This article studies the nanostructural properties of technical carbon and its physicochemical properties. The morphology, aggregate structure, and surface chemistry of technical carbon particles were analyzed as the main factors determining the functional properties of the material. As a result of the research, it was found that the presence of a turbostratic structure, interlayer distance (d₀₀₂=0.34-0.36 nm) and lateral size (La=1-3 nm) directly affect the surface activity of the material. The iodine absorption, oil absorption, and compressed oil absorption indices for the TU-5 sample were evaluated based on ASTM D1510, D2414, and D3493 standards. The results obtained scientifically substantiate the fact that technical carbon has high structural stability and the possibility of using it as an effective reinforcement in rubber and polymer compositions.
