The present study investigates the expression of lexical-semantic units and philosophical views in the translation of Christopher Marlowe’s drama Tamburlaine the Great. Literary translation represents a complex intercultural process involving semantic, stylistic, philosophical, and pragmatic reconstruction of the original text. Marlowe’s dramatic discourse is distinguished by elevated poetic language, rhetorical expressiveness, philosophical reflection, symbolic imagery, and emotionally intensive characterization. The article analyzes how lexical-semantic structures and philosophical concepts are reproduced in translation, with particular attention to semantic equivalence, metaphorical expression, contextual adaptation, and stylistic transformation. Comparative, semantic, stylistic, discourse-analytical, and interpretative methods were employed to examine selected fragments from the original drama and translated versions. The findings demonstrate that translators employ various strategies including semantic modulation, contextual substitution, stylistic compensation, and pragmatic adaptation to preserve philosophical depth and artistic expressiveness. However, certain lexical-semantic nuances and Renaissance philosophical implications undergo transformation due to linguistic and cultural differences. The study contributes to translation studies, comparative literature, literary semantics, discourse analysis, Renaissance studies, and intercultural communication.
