LOCAL APPLICATION OF THE PROBIOTIC SOLUTION "PROBIOMIX" IN THE TREATMENT OF PURULENT-INFLAMMATORY DISEASES OF THE MAXILLOFACIAL REGION

Purulent-inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial region remain among the most common conditions encountered in maxillofacial surgery. Despite advances in antimicrobial therapy and surgical management, these diseases are still associated with prolonged healing, risk of infection spread, and development of local and systemic complications. Conventional local treatment is mainly based on the use of antiseptic agents, which effectively reduce microbial contamination of the wound. However, prolonged antiseptic exposure may negatively affect normal microflora and reparative processes. In recent years, increasing attention has been paid to probiotic preparations capable of restoring microbial balance, suppressing pathogenic microorganisms through competitive mechanisms, and stimulating tissue regeneration. Therefore, evaluation of probiotic-based local therapy represents a promising direction for improving treatment outcomes in patients with purulent-inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial region.
