CHEMICAL-TOXICOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF TORASEMIDE
Annotatsiya
1, 2 Diuretic drugs are mainly used in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. According to the data presented in the literature, nearly 50–65% of people aged 60–65 suffer from arterial hypertension. The demand for this group of drugs is also increasing from year to year. However, cases of death caused by the improper use of diuretic drugs, such as overdose, intentional use for suicide purposes, or consumption by athletes to eliminate traces of doping substances, have been reported in the literature. Therefore, the study of torasemide, which belongs to the group of diuretic substances, is considered one of the relevant and important research topics. The article presents detailed analytical conditions for the determination of torasemide using thin-layer chromatography, UV spectrophotometry, highperformance liquid chromatography, and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry methods, as well as the results obtained from their application in biological fluids.
