IMPROVED DIAGNOSTIC ALGORITHM FOR EARLY DETECTION OF NECROBACTERIOSIS AND HOOF ROT IN HIGH-YIELDING DAIRY

ABI

Annotatsiya

The present study aimed to develop an improved diagnostic algorithm for the early detection of necrobacteriosis and hoof rot in high-yielding dairy cattle and to differentiate these conditions from clinically similar hoof pathologies. The research employed epizootological analysis, clinical examinations using a lameness scoring system, microscopic investigation, and bacteriological methods. A total of 160 pathological samples collected from affected hoof tissues were analyzed under laboratory conditions. The results confirmed the presence of Fusobacterium necrophorum and Dichelobacter nodosus as the principal etiological agents of necrobacteriosis and hoof rot. Clinical and epizootological findings demonstrated that high environmental humidity, inadequate hygiene, and insufficient hoof care are key risk factors. Based on the integrated data, a stepwise diagnostic algorithm was developed, combining clinical monitoring, laboratory diagnostics, and differential diagnosis. The proposed approach enhances early detection, improves diagnostic accuracy, and supports effective disease management in dairy cattle.
