Closed horizontal drainage systems play a crucial role in regulating soil water conditions and maintaining the productivity of irrigated lands, yet their hydraulic efficiency declines over time due to sediment accumulation within drainage pipes. Existing hydrodynamic cleaning devices often exhibit inefficient utilization of working fluid energy, non-uniform action of water jets on deposits, and instability of the cleaning head position under hose torsion. This paper presents an improved device for cleaning closed horizontal drainage pipelines used in agricultural drainage networks. The design features an eccentrically configured body with a freely rotating water supply connection and short flexible hoses equipped with jet-forming nozzles whose direction is controlled by articulated levers. This configuration automatically redistributes water-jet energy between traction and sediment erosion, depending on the presence, location, and thickness of deposits. Experimental and analytical evaluations show that the proposed device ensures a more rational use of the working fluid's energy, maintains stable positioning of the cleaning head within the pipeline, and enhances the quality and reliability of sediment removal. The device is recommended for the operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of closed horizontal drainage systems on irrigated agricultural lands.
