Annotatsiya

We analytically and numerically demonstrate the existence of strongly localized frontlike and quasirectangular solitary waves in anharmonic chains described by the discrete nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation. The stability of discrete fronts is predicted by direct linear analysis and numerically confirmed. The dynamics of interaction between bright pulses and front solutions is investigated.
