Barrier penetration effect on the angular momentum dependence of the parity splitting in actinide nuclei

Experimental data on the angular momentum dependence of the parity splitting of the yrast band in actinide nuclei are interpreted in the framework of a one-dimensional model of octupole vibrations with axial symmetry. The tunnelling effect as a main source of the parity splitting is calculated in the quasiclassical approximation.
