Invasive Species ——Agrilus Mali Matsumura and Damage in Xinjiang

Agrilus mali Matsumura is, a destructive pest of apple trees, belongs to the regional invasive species. In 1993, it was introduced undeliberately into Yili region from Shandong with the apple seedlings. Apart from serious damage to the local economy, it is threatening the existence of unique natural gene bank (Tianshan wild fruit forest ) of economical fruit resources in China. This paper aims at understanding the regularity of outbreak and damage of the invasive species to provide scientific theoretical basis for taking the best controling measure.
