Annotatsiya
The unique vacuum of the massive Schwinger model for the $\ensuremath{\theta}=0$ sector becomes metastable when $|\ensuremath{\theta}|$ exceeds $\ensuremath{\pi}$. This metastable vacuum decays through barrier penetration. We can get an explicit expression for the decay width, to leading order in $\ensuremath{\hbar}$, in the weak-coupling limit.
