The criterion that includes the cost, the heat output, and the service life is used to compare the solar collectors and water heating systems. The characteristics of four types of flat solar collectors and two types of systems with flat-plate and evacuated tubular collectors are compared with the use of this criterion for their operation in the conditions of Uzbekistan.
