Combined microfluidic/batch conditions were applied to β-mannosylation, a key glycosylation for the synthesis of the Manβ(1-4)GlcNAc motif in N-glycan structures. By applying the advantageous features of microfluidic conditions (i.e., efficient mixing and fast heat transfer), the Manβ(1-4)GlcNTroc fragment was practically and reproducibly synthesized on the gram scale.
