LINGUISTIC CREATIVITY IN DISCOURSE: THE RESEARCH PERSPECTIVE OF COGNITIVE SEMIOTICS

The study presents the procedure of cognitive-semiotic analysis of linguistic creativity in discourse which reveals the creative potential of forms and objects construal, that is the linguistic / discourse and referents / textual events creative construal potential. The approach develops the cognitivesemiotic theory of linguistic creativity offered in [Iriskhanova 2009] and incorporates the method of parametric linguistic creativity analysis through discourse variance [Zykova, Kiose 2020]. The procedure involves 1) parametric annotation and statistical analysis of linguistic creativity parameters values in all language levels of the texts corpus representing a definite discourse type (or several discourse types in case of a contrastive study), 2) selection of one or several of the cognitive mechanisms of linguistic creativity (where the choice depends on the type of linguistic units and the research problem) followed by a new parametric study of language units to reveal the referents and textual events construal specificity.
