Effects of Diffusion in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spin-Echo Experiments

The spin-echo attenuation by molecular self-diffusion in an inhomogeneous magnetic field has been calculated for three- and four-pulse sequences. The method employed avoids the question of an averaging procedure as discussed by Das and Saha. Experimental measurements yield confirmation of the three-pulse results.
