Annotatsiya

Abstract Light absorption in antiferromagnetic crystals in the frequency region of exciton and exciton-magnon transitions is considered within the framework of the exciton model. It is shown that the parameters of ‘dynamic’ and ‘static’ interactions determine not only the Davydov-splitting, but also the frequencies of exciton-magnon transitions. The experiments at strong magnetic fields are discussed, the exciton theory is shown to be in good agreement with the experiments.
