Ways to improve the results of surgical treatment of liver echinococcosis

Introduction. Analysis of scientific and medical and patent documentation indicates that in the literature available to us there is no definition of indications for the use of a particular method of surgery, taking into account various factors affecting the results of treatment.Aim of the study - to improve the efficacy of the surgical treatment of patients with the liver echinicoccosis on the basis of assessment of the liver condition and choice of the optimal surgical operation. Material of the study. The work is based on the experience of surgical treatment of 240 patients with echinococcosis of the liver of various locations operated in the SamMI clinic from 2009 to 2017. The control group included 117 (48.7%) patients operated in 2009-2012. The main group included 123 (51.3%) patients operated in 2013-2017.Results of the study. In the control group of patients, intraoperative complications such as anaphylactic shock (0.8%) and bleeding (1.7%) were noted. Compared with 2009-2012. the incidence of postoperative complications decreased from 13.7 to 4.1%. In the main group of patients, the lethal outcome was not noted, in the control group of the patients 2 (1.7%) patients died. Of the 209 patients who were examined at a later date, relapse of echinococcosis was noted in 11 (5.3%).Conclusions. Score assessment of factors affecting the choice of surgery in patients with liver echinococcosis allows you to choose the optimal method of EE taking into account the individual characteristics of the organism and improve the results of treatment.
