(Special contribution) Water culture of the people in Uzbekistan

The article analyzes the ancient traditions of the people in Uzbekistan related to water—the history of the construction of hydraulic structures. The article also describes changes in the attitudes of humans toward water under the influence of various ideologies and the role of rational use of water in today’s global environmental problems. The analysis of water culture, development of water management and irrigation systems, and global water problems show that keeping the keeping traditional attitude of the Uzbek people toward water and restoration of the historical values are today’s essential tasks. It is desirable and effective to increase irrigated lands using water-saving technologies, following the ancient water-saving culture of the Uzbek people to find nature-friendly solutions to today’s water scarcity problems.
