The thesis investigates the conceptualization of motherhood in the literary works of John Ernest Steinbeck from a linguocultural perspective. The study argues that Steinbeck’s maternal characters extend beyond biological and domestic functions, embodying moral stability, cultural memory, and social responsibility. Through an integrative analysis combining literary interpretation and linguocultural methodology, the research reveals the dual nature of motherhood as both a universal human concept and a culturally determined construct within the American literary tradition.
