Sustainable Decision-Making in Fintech: Impact on Sustainable Development

This research aims at understanding how sustainable decision-making in fintech can help speed up the process of sustainable development. This research goes further to study the impact of technological advancement as well as regulatory frameworks on the extent to which fintech can be leveraged for sustainability. Analysis shows that especially, sustainable decision making serves as an enabler of the sustainable development goals, with green finance, and the drive for transparency and financial inclusion being notable enablers. Also, technological advancement is helping the embedding of environmental, social and governance into the core operations of fintech services. Furthermore, institutional frameworks support this relationship by ensuring the sustainability efforts associated with the use of fintech are in sync with the intended goals. The findings indicate the role of appropriate sustainability practices that impact positively on economic, social, and environmental development through the use of fintech. The research also emphasizes how the further regulation will be required if the positive influence of fintech on the sustainability agenda is to be enhanced.
