Annotatsiya
The present study substantiates the worldwide clinical and public health relevance of chronic diffuse liver diseases (CDLD). The leading etiological contributors are identified as metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD/MASH), chronic viral hepatitis B and C, and alcohol-related liver injury. MAFLD demonstrates a notably high global prevalence (around 30%), with a marked upward trend over the last decade, reaching pandemic proportions. Chronic HBV and HCV infections are discussed in terms of their persistence rates and well-established potential to evolve into cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma, particularly in cases of vertical HBV transmission.
