Cohesion is an important component of effective writing because it enables ideas within a text to be linguistically connected and easily interpreted by readers. However, learners of English as a second language often experience difficulties in using cohesive devices appropriately, resulting in writing that lacks smooth flow and clarity despite grammatical accuracy.
