This article analyzes the role and significance of modern assessment technologies in developing reading literacy among primary school students. The study provides a theoretical and practical overview of formative and summative assessment, diagnostic tools, and competency-based assessment approaches. Special attention is paid to assessment methods aligned with the requirements of international assessment programs, particularly PIRLS. The effectiveness of modern assessment technologies in enhancing students’ reading comprehension, analytical skills, and independent thinking is substantiated. The article presents scientific conclusions and practical recommendations for organizing assessment as a learner-centered developmental tool in primary education.
