Foreign language learning is traditionally associated with cognitive skills such as memory, grammar acquisition, and pronunciation accuracy. However, recent educational and psychological perspectives emphasize the role of emotional factors in successful language acquisition. This article explores the importance of emotional intelligence in the process of learning a foreign language. Emotional intelligence influences learners’ motivation, self-confidence, anxiety management, social interaction, and persistence. Students who possess higher emotional awareness and emotional regulation skills demonstrate greater communicative competence and adaptability in multicultural environments. The paper argues that integrating emotional intelligence development into language education can enhance both academic achievement and personal growth of learners.
