STRATEGIC BASIS FOR DEVELOPING LISTENING SKILLS IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING
Annotatsiya
This article discusses in detail the theoretical and practical issues of developing listening skills, which are considered one of the most complex and fundamental parts of foreign language teaching methodology. It is argued that in the process of modern language learning, listening is not only a passive process of receiving information, but also a complex cognitive activity. The study analyzes the main factors that hinder students' perception of natural speech - speech speed, dialectal differences, phonetic changes and psychological barriers. The article demonstrates the advantages of introducing authentic materials (podcasts, film clips, live interviews) into the teaching process, abandoning traditional textbook materials. In addition, the work develops new methodological recommendations for a three-stage model of effective organization of listening lessons (pre-listening, listening process and post-listening stages). The author studies the extent to which maintaining a balance between "top-down" (understanding the general content) and "bottom-up" (analyzing language units) strategies increases students' lesson effectiveness. The concluding part of the article presents methodological conclusions on teaching listening comprehension skills in an integrated manner with other types of speech activities, especially speaking skills.
