This article explores the relationship between school climate and student wellbeing, emphasizing the multifaceted impact of the educational environment on learners' emotional, social, and psychological development. As educational institutions evolve into increasingly complex social systems, the significance of fostering a positive school climate has become central to policy-making and school improvement initiatives. A supportive school climate—characterized by respect, safety, inclusivity, and strong interpersonal relationships—plays a critical role in promoting student wellbeing and academic success. Drawing on ecological and psychosocial frameworks, the study investigates how various components of school climate, including teacher-student relationships, peer interactions, school safety, and institutional support, affect students' mental health, sense of belonging, and engagement. Through a combination of literature review and empirical research, the article analyzes data from surveys and interviews with students and teachers in secondary schools across urban and rural contexts. Findings indicate that positive school climate significantly enhances students' self-esteem, resilience, and motivation, while negative or neglectful environments may contribute to anxiety, disengagement, and behavioral issues. The article further discusses strategies for cultivating a healthy school climate, such as teacher training, anti-bullying policies, inclusive practices, and participatory leadership. It also highlights challenges in implementation, including disparities in resources, staff attitudes, and administrative support. Ultimately, the study underscores that school climate is not a peripheral concern but a foundational component of student wellbeing and holistic education.
