FUNCTIONAL AND SEMANTIC CHARACTERISTICS OF PHRASAL VERBS IN ENGLISH AND THEIR COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS WITH UZBEK ANALYTICAL VERB CONSTRUCTIONS

This article examines the functional and semantic characteristics of English phrasal verbs and their comparative relationship to analytical verb constructions in Uzbek. The study focuses on the structural organization, semantic flexibility, communicative functions, and stylistic peculiarities of phrasal verbs within modern English discourse. Special attention is devoted to the typological differences between English, an analytical language, and Uzbek, an agglutinative language. The paper also investigates the role of auxiliary elements in expressing grammatical and semantic meanings in both linguistic systems. Through comparative linguistic analysis, similarities and distinctions between English phrasal verbs and Uzbek analytical verb constructions are identified. The article argues that understanding the semantic mechanisms of phrasal verbs contributes significantly to the development of communicative competence and translation skills in foreign language learning.
