Abstract

Independent studies of diamagnetic resonance and dispersion of helicon waves revealed a marked rearrangement of the energy spectrum of basic electrons in n-type Pb1–xSnxTe single-crystal specimens in the vicinity of the ferromagnetic ordering of the system in the temperature range from 1.7 to 8°K. When the specimens are heated by 3 to 4°K, the coefficient of effective-mass anisotropy more than doubles and the transverse effective electron mass decreases by more than 30%.
