Abstract
It is shown that reabsorbtion of phonons in a microcontact made of normal metals leads to lattice heating to a temperature of Θ ≲ eV/4(V is the voltage across the junction). This leads to the appearance of a background in the dependence of d2V/dI2 on V, which is a complicated function of energy. However, the electron gas remains cold, i.e., it retains the temperature of the helium bath, which indicates the absence of additional broadening of the electron–phonon interaction function α˜2(ω)F(ω),reconstructed from the second derivative of the microjunction current-voltage characteristics.
