Abstract
We use the method of Jacobi matrices for a model of a bct crystal to study the low temperature specific heat of thin films bounded by two free (001) surfaces. We analyze the influence of the crystal anisotropy on the film specific heat and on the specific heat associated with the interaction of its two surfaces, for various film thicknesses.
