Abstract
We examine the behavior of a Wigner crystal in a helium film covering a solid substrate containing a periodic relief. When there is a strong electric field parallel to the substrate, the velocity of the crystal has an oscillatory component in addition to its constant component. Resonance energy absorption is observed when the crystal is illuminated with a frequency which corresponds to the crystal oscillatory frequency. We find the frequency and amplitude of the absorbed power as functions of the system parameters.
