Magnetic field penetration into structures with the quantum Hall effect and Hall insulators

Abstract

The nature of penetration of low-frequency or microwave magnetic fields into semiconductor superlattices (SL) drastically changes (in respect of the quantizing magnetic field, temperature and frequency) upon a transition to the quantum Hall effect (QHE).1,2 A similar effect is observed in three-dimensional Hall insulators (HI) upon a transition from a metal to a Hall medium.
