Abstract

Theoretical and experimental studies reveal that in a compensated metal placed in a strong magnetic field, a transverse electromagnetic wave may propagate with a linear dispersion relation and a velocity of the order of the Fermi velocity for an arbitrary orientation of the wave vector relative to the magnetic field. This wave is a hybrid of zero-acoustic and fast magnetoacoustic waves.
