Abstract

Abstract The protected β‐D‐glucopyranosyl isocyanate (Ia) and the isothiocyanate (Ib) are coupled with the furfural hydrazone (II) to give the (thio)semicarbazones (III) which are deacetylated to produce the free carbohydrates (IV).
