Abstract

The transverse (Hall) resistance of a one-dimensional quantum interferometer is calculated in the field of vector potential, the resistance depending periodically on the magnetic flux (with period Φ0 = hc/e). The relevant contribution to the Hall coefficient of small samples (which is determined by their geometry and position of impurities) may lead to a considerable difference from the value of the Hall coefficient measured in bulk conductors.
