Abstract

The optical absorption spectrum of YBa2Cu3O6.15 films is investigated in the energy range 1.5–3 eV at temperatures from 4.2 to 300 K. A strong coupling (∼0.1 eV) between the electron excitation with a charge transfer and optical phonons is established. The main contribution to the electron excitation scattering comes from optical vibrations at frequencies of 330 and 150 cm−1, i.e., from vibrations of oxygen and copper ions in the Cu–O plane.
