Abstract
The problem of the propagation of a spatial soliton in a system of tunneling-coupled optical waveguides is studied. The tunneling coupling coefficient is assumed to be modulated in a transverse direction. The adiabatic dynamics is studied for the case of periodic modulation of the tunneling coupling coefficient. The stationary points for the beam parameters are found. The effective potential is calculated for the center of the beam in the equivalent-particle model. The condition for resonance emission of waves by a soliton is obtained.
