Abstract
Atmospheric degradation of the structure and superconducting properties of the isotropic and textured YBa2Cu3O7−δ (δ=0.07) ceramics as a result of prolonged storage in air under normal conditions was studied on the samples possibly irradiated with 18-MeV protons to a maximum fluence of 6×1014 p/cm2. It is demonstrated that the proton irradiation to a certain dose increases stability of the structure and superconducting properties of the ceramics with respect to atmospheric degradation; an additional inhibition of the degradation is achieved in textured ceramics.
