Abstract

The results of investigations of crystallization of cordierite glasses that are obtained via melt cooling at different rates are presented. It is revealed that in order to obtain an amorphous material it is necessary to cool the melt with rate no less than 103 deg/s. Taking into account the peculiarities of the technological process that is used to obtain sintered glass-ceramics, in which glass powder is formed, the optimal procedure is melt cooling via pouring into water.
