Abstract

In 2009~2011,parallel sampling method was used to investigate major insect pests on Sonneratia apetala and its parastoids in Kangxiling mangrove nature reserve in Qinzhou,Guangxi.The results showed that there were 21 species of the pests on Sonneratia apetala,which belonged to 4 orders and 13 families.The major pests were Trabala vishnou,Ticera castanea,Latoia pastorlis(Butler),Chalioides kondonis and Dasychira sp.,which were all leaf-eating pests.Meanwhile,2 orders,4 families,8 species of the parasitoids of two major pests,Trabala vishnou and Ticera castanea,were also collected.The parasitic rate of the parasitoid of Trabala vishnou was 67.3%.Therefore,protecting and utilizating natural enemy was an effective way to control insect pests on Sonneratia apetala.
