Erythrocyte hemolysis under spark gas-discharge plasma radiation

Abstract

Action of spark gas-discharge plasma radiation on erythrocyte suspension was investigated, power of radiation source was 0.59W. It was found that the erythrocyte has hemolysis after time treatment 15-30 minutes. Erythrocyte hemolysis was identified by means of transmission electron microscopy, increasing number of shadows in Goryaev chamber and increasing of extra cellular hemoglobin in 5 times. Dityrosine concentration is increased in 17.7 times. Appreciable changes in lipid concentration don’t found. It means, that after action of spark gas-discharge plasma radiation the erythrocyte membranes are destroyed owing to protein oxidation. It was shown, the main destructive factor of gas-discharge spark plasma radiation is HO2• radical.
