Analysis on fruit peel rate and ivy saponins content of Sapindus mukorossi fruits from different places of origin

Abstract

Analysis of economic characters of Sapindus mukorossi fruits,exocarps weight and saponins contents showed that there were great different among different places of origin. The heaviest single fruit was in Sanming,Fujian,the heaviest exocarp was in Panzhihua,Sichuan,the highest exocarp percent of total fruit weight was in Chengdu-2,Sichuan and the highest saponins contents was in Xiangyang,Hubei. Meanwhile,different plants from the same area also existed difference. The fruit and exocarp weight and saponins contents of S. mukorossi not only were influenced by light,temperature,soil and other environmental factors,which resulted in some geographical variation,but also by its own biological and genetic factors.
