Abstract

Crimp is one of the key parameters, which allows assessing, as a first approximation, the conditions of fabric production on a weaving machine. The raw materials consumption is determined based on crimp. Raw material type, yarn linear density, its interlacing, binding, warpwise and weft density, phase structure system, parameters of cloth threading and production on a loom, yarn physical-and-mechanical, and rheological properties influence crimp. Therefore, the crimp of yarn can be accepted as the criterion of assessment of the fabric structure. As the result of work, based on the mechanical model, the crimp of the yarn in fabric formulas, considering the time of load application to material and the time of relaxation of the fabric warp and weft yarn are determined. Comparative study of crimp of the yarn in fabric and machinery transportation, calculated based on the geometrical and mechanical model, are reported. The influence of yarn relaxation and fabric formation speed on the crimp of the warp and weft yarn in a fabric is determined. Relationships of warp and weft yarn crimp depending on relaxation time are defined.
