Solution of a Characteristic Problem for the Third Order Pseudoparabolic Equation with the Bessel Operator by the Method of Transmutation Operators

Abstract

In this paper, the method of transmutation operators is used to construct an exact solution of the characteristic problem for a third-order pseudoparabolic equation with the Bessel operator. The fractional Erdélyi–Kober operator has been used as the transmutation operator. Applying this operator, the considered problem was reduced to a similar problem without the Bessel operator. The resulting auxiliary problem has been solved by the Riemann method. On the basis of this solution, an exact solution to the original problem has been constructed.
