Enhancing Shopping Experience Through LoRa and RFID Technology
Abstract
Shops and supermarkets are constantly developing new ideas to make purchasing products simpler and reduce line wait times. The design and implementation of an RFID-based system that makes it possible to quickly and precisely scan product prices in a supermarket are presented in this paper. The suggested system makes use of RFID technology to wirelessly transmit data to the counter using the Long Range (LoRa) communication protocol after automatically scanning the prices of products. The system comprises RFID readers, tags, a LoRa module, and a microcontroller. The microcontroller processes the data after the RFID reader has processed it and sent it to it, and then the data is transmitted to the counter via the LoRa module. The system has been tested in a real-world supermarket environment, and the results demonstrate its effectiveness in terms of accuracy and efficiency. The proposed system offers a promising solution to address the challenges of traditional barcode scanning and can potentially enhance the overall shopping experience for customers.
