Augmented Reality and AI in Higher Education: Creating Immersive Learning Experiences
Abstract
This paper introduces a groundbreaking approach to revolutionize higher education through the synergistic integration of Augmented Reality (AR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The proposed system aims to create immersive learning experiences, fostering active engagement and personalized education. Recognizing the evolving educational landscape, our research endeavors to address the growing need for innovative technologies. A comprehensive literature survey underscores the increasing interest in combining AR and AI to enhance student outcomes. Building on this foundation, our work presents a holistic system that leverages AR for interactive content delivery and real-world simulations, while AI algorithms tailor learning experiences to individual students’ unique preferences and performance metrics. The methodology involves the design and development of an AR-enabled educational platform, utilizing computer vision to track and respond to user interactions, thereby creating a dynamic and responsive learning environment. The proposed implementation model ensures compatibility across devices, making the system widely accessible. Preliminary results from a pilot study showcase a significant improvement in student engagement and knowledge retention, validating the potential of AR and AI in higher education. This paper concludes by emphasizing the transformative impact of integrating these technologies, foreseeing a future where traditional learning environments are replaced by immersive, personalized educational experiences.
