Abstract

Adsorbents synthesized from highly basic anionites through the modification of polyvinyl chloride (adsorbent PPE-1) and also polyacrylonitrile (adsorbents PPF-1 and PPA-1) polymers by polyethylene polyamine were used for the selective adsorption of copper(II) ions. To modify polyacrylonitrile, the Thoron I reagent was immobilized on the adsorbent surface. Optimal conditions for the reagent immobilization on the adsorbents and the subsequent complex formation with copper(II) ions were investigated under batch conditions. A procedure for the adsorption–atomic-absorption determination of copper(II) ions in technogenic, waste, and industrial waters was developed.
