Abstract

The study emphasizes the critical role of irrigation in food safety, particularly in regions facing agricultural sustainability challenges. Conventional water management practices hinder a sustainable progress. The adoption of drip irrigation, delivering water directly to plant roots is proposed as a viable solution. The findings reveal a significant reduction (10-50%) in irrigation rates and increase in cotton yields. Groundwater levels impact irrigation requirements, with higher levels correlating with increased rates. Calculations highlight varying groundwater uptake and soil moisture content based on the cotton root system’s depth.
