Adjustment of resonance-induced enhancement of high-order harmonics using two-color and tunable pumps of laser plasmas
Abstract
The application of two-color and tunable infrared parametric pumps for the optimization of resonance-induced enhancement of the single high-order harmonics of ultrashort pulses in chromium and manganese laser-induced plasmas in the extreme ultraviolet region (28 and 23 nm, respectively) is reported. The study highlights the significance of resonances in plasmas as harmonic wavelengths approach ionic transitions with significant oscillator strength. The amendment of harmonic efficiency using the above methods of two plasmas pumping compared with ordinary odd harmonics generation using the fixed wavelength (800 nm) is demonstrated. The application of this approach for other laser-induced plasmas will allow determining the optimal schemes of high-order harmonic enhancement.
