Abstract

This article introduces a new type of motor called the tubular dual-stator switched reluctance linear motor. It is designed to improve upon traditional cylindrical longitudinal flux switched reluctance linear motors (SRLMs) by utilizing internal space more effectively and forming a more efficient magnetic circuit. The tubular linear rotary switched reluctance machine (TDSRLM) consists of an annular outer stator, a cylindrical inner stator, inner and outer stator windings, spacer rings, and a double salient pole mover. It has two sets of switched reluctance motor systems, with opposite winding directions in the circumferential and longitudinal directions. The motor has six windings, with inner and outer stator windings being simultaneously electrified. The motor’s dual-stator design provides high average output, simple structure, easy maintenance, and high reliability. Finite element analysis demonstrates that the TDSRLM exhibits good output force characteristics.
