Abstract

The article examines the issues of enhancing the efficiency of Namangan’s urban transport management and explores the prospects for implementing IoT (Internet of Things) technologies. The study analyzes the dynamics of urban traffic growth, the share of public transport usage, and existing challenges. Drawing on international experience (Singapore, Moscow, Seoul, Tashkent), the effectiveness of smart traffic lights and passenger flow sensors is demonstrated. The feasibility of integrating the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system with IoT in the context of Namangan is substantiated, which can contribute to reducing traffic congestion, decreasing passenger waiting time by up to 30%, increasing public transport usage by 7–9%, and lowering CO₂ emissions by 17%.
